Started in the Phoenixville area, McGee Electric put their first "truck" on the road, an old VW Beetle with the backseat removed, in 1976 by Joseph L. McGee II. Over the years, Joe McGee's business grew, as did his family. Needing more space for both brought them to the Pottstown area. The next 20 plus years in the Pottstown area brought an expansion of not only the family - four sons but the business as well.
The passing of Joe McGee brought a major change to the family and the business. It was only natural that the sons who had been working in the business with their father would carry on what he had started. The one thing that did not change was the commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
